William Burns serves as executive vice president and chief financial officer at Cross Country Healthcare in Boca Raton, Florida. In this position, he has notably closed multiple strategic acquisition deals with a total revenue of approximately $400 million. William Burns has additionally worked to automate and coordinate all aspects of the company’s financial processes, realizing savings of over $35 million.
William Burns is an MBA graduate of New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. After early work as a financial analyst and audit leader for several marquee-name companies based in New York City, he accepted positions with Honeywell International, Inc., as international and systems group controller and chief financial officer. He went on to serve in executive and chief accounting roles with, successively, Adecco US and management software company CA, Inc.
Prior to coming on board with Cross Country in 2014, William Burns dedicated six years to his work with Gartner, Inc., as the technology advisory firm’s group vice president and corporate controller. He is the recipient of a 2016 CFO Turn-Around Achievement award from South Florida Business Journal, and has served as corporate walk chair for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2019 Light the Night walk in Boca Raton.
